The trick is to stack a couple of pieces of 2x6 or 2x8 framing lumber ahead of the ramp so you "sneak up" on the ramp. I use one piece about 4 feet long and another about 2 feet long on top of the longer one. I put these so the car goes up on them and then onto the ramps. If your car is really low, you might need another layer of lumber but this setup works very well. Once the car is on the ramps they are doing all the support. The lumber just gets it up there.
My driveway slopes away from the garage so I get some extra height if I point it downhill, but this works anywhere.
