You have missing pixels on an 04 SID? First I have heard of that happening. They were redesigned in 04 to fix that. I am suprised. As mentioned, 04 has updated PCV system (#6) to aviod sludging, but any engine can sludge if wrong oil is used, or with excessive change intervals. Your 2000 9-3 DIC will work fine in the 9-5, just may be an older model, that could die earlier than a brand new one. It will be a good test at least to ensure it is DIC and not plugs, or even potentially the DIC wiring harness. Ejoy your Saab. To be honest, we don't keep buying them based on their dependability. But it is nice when they run correctly.
