Our first 9-5, a 2000 wagon, was bought in 2002 with about a year of factory warranty remaining. Not much to do, repair-wise under the warranty. In the next 5 years - until a drunk ran into it and totalled it - it needed strictly routine stuff (bulbs, a battery, etc.) EXCEPT for the infamous ABS module fiasco, for which Saab paid 1/2 the expense (this was before the inexpensive fix was posted here...)
Our next 9-5, a 2001 Aero sedan, bought CPO and 27K miles, needed little under the CPO, and in the two years since CPO expired, has gone through a water pump. Also had to do 60K major service - routine but not that cheap. That's it, except for bulbs and tires. Now at 65K.
Got an 2004 Arc wagon to replace the other one, CPO at 45K miles. Had it about 7 months, just oil changes so far.
Maybe we're just lucky or something....
