No insight on the other points (will anyone around Chicago let me ride in their Aero?) but I do know the dash can be easily swapped.
You'll need to remove the radio, SID, ACC, and most of the other buttons (they pry out). You'll need knitting needles or skewers or a radio removal tool to get the radio out. Otherwise the dash is fastened with a handful of torx screws. You may need to take off the steering column cover to maneuver it out. And voila.
You may want to check the panel around the shifter. It might be different between manual and automatic.
BTW, I'm looking for an aluminum dash, if you'd want sell your soon-to-be extra.
