I have a 99 9-5 and the Alarm kept going off intermittently. I was also getting the Service Alarm light. The local dealer advised me it was most likely the batteries in the alarm. I removed the alarm located in the fender well next to the washer reservoir tank. This necessitated removal of the wheel and inner fender. I removed the alarm and changed the batteries. Now here’s the catch. The batteries are soldered in. They call for a CR 17335 but the cross match is a CR123A which can be bought any place they sell camera batteries. $10 for the two. Changing them requires cutting the spot welded tabs off the original batteries with a utility knife and soldering in the new ones. Caution! How safe it is to solder a Lithium battery is the question. I have done it several times but ….. My alarm is now working ok. Dealers price to repair was over $350 and over $150 to rewire which I gues meant pull the plug to the alarm.
