I absolutely agree that it is more likely your oil pressure sending unit. The oil leaks back through the sender and drips onto the catalytic converter and burns off quickly with no trace below and a definite stink that gets sucked into your cabin air. Getting visual and working access to it under the car requires removal of the starter. I sort of forget, but even with the starter removed, you may need several extensions and a universal joint to work around some other obstruction. Make sure you disconnect the battery or you will spark something and startle yourself and drop the starter into your face!! (Trust me...I know!!). Anyway, use a 12 point socket to undo the leaky oil sending unit and with the new replacement hexagonal sending unit, run the wire down along one of the open splines of the 12 point socket to keep it out of the way and tighten the unit in place. Reconnect the sending wire, remount the starter and reconnect the battery and you should be good to go!
Best of Luck and Say Goodbye to the Stink!!
