Two years ago, the gas Passat Wagon was one car we drove when we had decided (after 35 years and 14 SAABs) that it was time to change makes. I will be the first to state that that one of the reasons we didn't go VW was after being completely alienated by two (2) dealers. In a row. But the Passat just didn't measure up to our '04 9-5 wagon (a lease car that we needed to replace). We then drove the Outback, but the front seat was WAY too small for my six-six. In desperation, we abandoned the idea of a wagon and drove an Accord and an Altima......both nice cars.
In the end....we went with SAAB. Bought an '04 wagon CPO car, didn't keep the lease car because we didn't care for the automatic. We've been happy with this car for the past two years. Where we'll go from here is anybody's guess, given the current uncertain fate of SAAB. But I suspect we'll stick with it as long as we can.......
