Should I buy a new 9-5?

A fellow TSN person is interested in buying our 2005 9-5 Aero. That has prompted my wife and I to look for a possible replacement vehicle, but so far, nothing has measured up to our Saab, at least not enough to make us want to sell it. (Why do so few vehicles come with heated rear seats?) Our Saab dealer has a few 2009 9-5 Griffin Editions in stock, including a wagon. We plan to take a look at them next week. Unfortunately, they are all automatics, and my wife and I prefer manual transmissions.
I am well aware that this is the end of the line for the old 9-5, but to me they still look good (and the wheels on the Griffins are really sharp!). I also know that, financially, we would have to get a really good price on a new 9-5 to justify the low resale value of our 05, not to mention a low resale value for an 09 when it came time to sell or trade it on something new. Our dealer, who is a stand alone Saab dealer, could certainly use a sale these days. We can wait a while to replace our 05 if we sell it now, but we would like something by this fall, and there is no indication that Saab, even if they find a buyer and stay in the North American market, will have any new models available by then.
I would appreciate any input from others here on Saabnet. In particular, what would be a reasonable deal on a new 9-5 Griffin Edition Sport Combi with a sticker of $44,595?
John.
