I found old small C clamp that has a v groove in the end and seems to match the existing pin crushed edges, I'm gonna carefully try that and if no go, I've a got two B.F.H.'s that I'll whack them with.. have done that with motorcycle chains on bench vice anvil and hammer, beter controlled situation, but as you said, probably easier than it sounds and am probably sweating for nothing.. just hate the though of it either getting too tight with hammers or c clamp, or it letting go in there later not peened enough..
heading out now to cut chain off now and roll in the new one before I button up oil pan, should maybe be easier to work with due to head off and more chain to work with??
yep getting closer for sure with good advice from many..
