No one here said you were a monkey. Unfortunately, unlike the check engine light, the oil light only has one meaning; low or no oil pressure. The fact your engine was making funny sounds and would not rev beyond 2k rpm supports this. The fact that you drove the car with the oil light on means you probably have some significant engine damage done... bearings scored, melted components are all possibilities.
So you said the car runs fine in park? It is normal for the turbo gauge to not move as you rev out of gear. The boost control diverts exhaust gases from the turbo so it's not needlessly boosting the engine with no load.
What you need to do now is find a close SAAB specialist. Don't bring it to some rinky-dink family run general shop or chain like Midas. You need someone who knows this car and engine. You need to have the oil pan dropped and the pick up screen inspected. It's most likely covered in hard gritty sludge, starving the engine for oil.
I hate to say it but it sounds like your car is going to need a lot of work. Possibly a full rebuild or engine replacement. It might be worth having it towed to the mechanic you're familiar with, close to home, because it might need to be there for a while. Good luck!
