and on the 04 Arc (5 speed auto) I was pleased to see they tuned the shift points and gear logic to hold the higher gears very effectively before downshifting - in order to take advantage of the turbo torque. Coming from a 5-spd 01 LPT I am really impressed with the way it holds the higher gear on long freeway uphills, or when just pressing down for a bit more acceleration at freeway speeds without needing to downshift. I am also impressed with the way it will pull a downshift if you are on a downgrade and brake to scrub off speed - just as you would do with the manual. On the other hand, I rarely use the "manual" mode - it is slow to respond and goofy in my opinion.
