Yep this was my tried and true method for stud removal and worked slick for the exhaust studs out of the head, but the exhaust manifold (had broken stud for turbo shield I worked at to get out what a bitch) and Turbo are diferent animals I guess, some came out super slick with no effort at all and 4 were firmly welded in there. I reefed in 2 hardened nuts to try and lock em and they spun off thr stud... the last two I'm afraid I'll twist/snap em off before they back out as I had as much pressure as I could on the vice grips and all my might to try and turn.. not sure how hard these studs are if I need to drill em out.. but before I go to that extreme, I'll try the grind down two flat sides trick and gicve the vice grips another whirl,, they are so stuck not sure if stud remover will help any? I'll get it one way or another, just frustrating as thought I'd pop em out last night and intall the turbo and fire it up.. just another speed bump in the road..
