The valve body itself is about $1500 I think. I checked in WIS and the transmission doesn't look like it needs to be removed to replace the valve body. On early models though (which this 2002 might be) the harness needs to be replaced for another ~$500 in parts. I'd factor in at least $500 for labor, so it would probably be around $2500 to fix it right. Do you mind sharing how much the seller looking to get for the car?
