I replaced that bulb on my 2000 Aero. According to my Haynes book, it should be the same procedure at least up to 2004.
.) Gently pry up the selector lever trim (I think it has four tabs) then remove the position indicator panel.
.) Remove the green strip and slider and the graded strip (you'll see it). Be careful to see how they go together so you can get them back right. I ruined the green strip by not doing it right and had to made a new one out of a translucent green plastic report holder because you can't buy that strip seperately.
.) Use a piece of tubing to grab the old bulb and replace it with a new one.
.) Put everything back together, being careful to get the plastic film strips correct. There's a little knob that one of them "hooks" on to via a hole in a side tabs on, I think, the green strip.
