Before I raised the suspension on my Aero it was 30mm low all around and I only had the very smallest bit of rubbing on one rear wheel; quite possibly it was more from the plastic inner well being distorted than the wheel. And the suspension felt pretty good, though the rear wasn't perfect. For normal driving/normal roads the car was fine before I raised it, and most people like that lowered look.
I went to the trouble of raising it for three reasons. First, I was tired of scraping the front of the spoiler on absurdly low curbs. Second, I was finding that the suspension bottomed out frequently on bad roads which are the most common kind of road here in New England. Third, I occasionally pull a trailer and, when doing that there was very little suspension left. Spacing the read back to OE height contributed very positively to all three of these.
