I had a 2000 9-5 Aero, so I'll give it a try.
Good: Styling (interior and exterior), sure-footed ride, solid feel, good power, pretty good mileage, great brakes, good crash protection, lots of room, handles well in winter (with snow tires).
Bad: Some parts (like alternator) are expensive to buy and a PITA to install, rear cambor hard to keep in spec, more nuisance-type repairs than there should be (e.g., coolant by-pass valve, SID, headlights), tends to have leaks (I have a coolant leak, but only when the weather is below 60 degrees and little oil leaks a couple of places). And of course the biggie: potential engine sludging.
Bottom line: fun, good-looking car, but if repairs/leaks drive you nuts it may not be for you.
