mainly the bad is the "Possible" rear camber issues, the rear springs can sag causing the rear camber to go out of spec, but if you are a good DIY guy then it can be handled with either shims or new springs.
engine sludging is really the only "real" bad issue. this is not a car I would use normal oil in nor would I think about going over 5000miles with synthetic. the problem is not as bad in the 5spds though. I have never had a issue in my 01 with 110k on it. If I were looking at a car I would bring a coat hanger or long wire and stuff it down the dipstick tube and see if i can scrape up any sludge from the bottom of the crank case. (Please search this topic)
over all this is a very good car for the price range.
