I would not trust the nivomat to load above the Saab numbers. Given the stock design is so screwed up, what is to say the nivomat is any better. Some on the UK sites say the nivomat helped, but not enough. The car still sagged excessively at loads that are under the load limits.
Whatever you do, don't exceed the axle load rating or the tire load ratings. You have to guess at that a bit since some load transfers to the front. Error on the cautious side.
Your only real option is beefier springs. You might piece something together stateside or import from Europe. You can email me for some more specific suggestions.
Long haul loading seems to be the 9-5s nemesis as there are many reports of tire and suspension component problems.
