They go between the coil wires - you thread push/thread them in while the car is jacked up. When you lower the car the coil compresses around the spacer, holding it in very nicely. When you're done you jack the car up again and just pull them right out. If you have a relatively clean floor and a floor jack it's a piece of cake.
It doesn't raise the height of the car that much, probably 10mm.
