Thank you for the helpful response. When I grease the plug, should I grease the ceramic stem or the metal part in contact with the engine block (i.e. where the socket catches); I'm presuming that the metal tip on the top farthest away from the engine block should not have any dielectric grease as that would stop electricity flow.
Is "ignition coil" an internal part of the DI cassette? Does that mean I have to take apart the cassette to grease around the ignition coil up deep inside the rubber plug/nipple/nozzle?
Sorry if some of my questions sound silly. I had never taken the DI off the car before. I bought a set of spark plugs and a spare DI when the car was 3yrs and 35k miles old, been waiting 6+ years for the CEL; LOL. Never had to use either now the car is 9yrs old and 92+k miles. The dealership put in a new DI 4-5 years ago as part of the DI recall, so I'd rather use the DI that's been in the car for 4-5 yrs instead of the spare I had bought earlier which might actually be an older pre-recall version. When it comes to cars, I tend to take the position of being prepared, but try not to fix anything that is not broken; hence sitting on my spare DI and spark plugs for 6+ years until the CEL light came on :-)
