Eric, I recently replace the rear springs and shocks on my 1999, 220,000km wagon. I thought this would fix the noticeable sag of the left rear. The new springs compared very closely to the removed ones in uncompressed length.I thought this would fix the problem. It did not. I was surprised to find that the right rear shock was all but dead and the left, saggy side, was still good. The new parts did fix that hop and sidestep that occurred at every speed bump.I would have been informative to test the new and old springs for deflection under load and compare. The rear sway bar bushings had been replace earlier.Overall, the suspension on these cars seems somewhat weak and designed to operate within a narrow load range. Much more than a tank of gas and two adults alters the ride and handling more that a little.Within that limit they are very nice. From reading post here it would seem that the left side is more prone to sagging. Perhaps the weight of a driver? In short new springs and shocks help but may not be a complete cure. Springs are relatively inexpensive. Shocks have a wide price range. The installation of both is relatively easy. Cheers Doug
