it's not slamming the brakes, it's turning that helps break the corrosion bond.
Try spraying some PB Blaster, or other similar substance (WD-40 is about the weakest...) in the hole for the center cap. Let it soak.
Also, try a LONG prybar against the inner side of the wheel/tire, braced against the control arm or something. That's how my mechanic usually gets them off.
This can take time...
When you do get it/them off, you MUST clean the surfaces on both the wheel and hub till the wheel fits again without forcing it on. Then you smear on some anti-seize compound or grease to prevent the corrosion from coming back.
