will give much better handling over the awd and the hyper strut. with weight out further than the tires, it makes the tires work harder than wheels that are out further on the body. it really doesn't have much effect on the crumple zones, as they are inside the wheels, not in front or behind. it also makes the car more stable, like having legs on a kitchen table, if you have them positioned towords the center and somebody leans on the end, it is more likely to turn over, where with the legs out on the very corners, its more stable.
