the seats are what get me. I've recounted here before that the seats are good for a 20 minute drive. But go for an hour and it's "get me outta this car!"
At least that was in an Outback wagon 4 years ago. We got a CPO '03 Linear wagon for the same money.
HOWEVER.... I drove an Impreza wagon a couple months back and it was really pretty nice. It was a NA engine, but had 170 hp on tap and seemed pretty good on a twisty back road. The seats felt OK. I'd consider one, depending on the needs.
Just wish they got better gas mileage. I see Subies as Saab-wannabes. They come close, but if you're used to a Saab they miss the mark. Nice cars, you just need lower expectations.
