First of all, I do not drive an SUV. I have two cars: one 9-5 wagon, one 9-3 convertible. I was the one who advocated buying the Highlander when my wife was a card-carrying SUV-hater. She has been monopolizing the Highlander for the past couple years.
Secondly, Kentucky is geographically part of the old south. There are plenty states and plenty people who live to the north of Kentucky, and they get far more snow and snow accumulation on the ground than Kentucky. Out where I live, blue grass die in winter, and horses would too if not taken into shelters or wear clothing. In fact, it may be against law here in MA to leave horse outside in winter without taking them inside shelter.
Thirdly, the vast majority of 41yr olds in the world probably have never owned a car, period. That has not caused them grief or pain. However, that is not a good reason to decry your car ownership.
Fourthly, I'm sure you can find plenty online footage of car drivers making fools of themselves. That is not a valid reason for any of the vast majority of the 41yr olds in the world who have never owned a car to make fun of or belittle your car ownership.
