I purchased 1" lifts from Jeff at http://jjjperformance.110mb.com/ I had to modify them to use with the Koni-FSD's (http://www.genuinesaab.com) I put on the rear of my '02 Aero. [For future reference: the Koni-FSD's are ~42.2mm diameter. To clear the upper lip on the Koni-FSD spring seat requires 49.5mm and there is a radius on the inside of the seat.] With the spring seat sitting on the upper perch + a 1" lift, the driver's side ended up at exactly 610mm. The passenger side was 628mm. Do I need to worry about that 18mm?
Also, it took way too long for me to get the top nut off the struts. I used a pneumatic impact wrench, held on to the piston rod with locking pliers enough to slow down the rotation, but still had to work the nut back and forth, cleaning the threads each cycle, to get it off. It probably took me 45 minutes each. It did feel good to get them off, though.
Finally, the WIS states in bold letters to replace the bottom bolt on the shock with a new one. I re-used the old one. How important is it to replace that bolt?
