LIke Roger below I'm running the Vredestein's - they were cheaper per tire than the Nokian WRG2. From eyeballing the tread pattern the WRG2 may do better in icier conditions due to more siping. This is the 2nd winter with them. Compared with the old Nokian RSi's I used before...the Vredestein tire is much better in dry and wet conditions, both for traction and noise. The Vredestein does well in snowy and slushy conditions typical of a Massachusetts winter. I never felt insecure or had any loss of control. TTe RSI's were definitely superior in deep and packed snow conditions. That said, in our winter conditions here the Vredestein was a better tire for all but the toughest times. I also really like the Vredestein over the warmer months.
Being in VA I'd say you can't go wrong with the Quatrac 3 or WRG2.
