MACKAY HEATER HOSE Posted by saabsince 93b [Email] (#972) [Profile/Gallery] (more from saabsince 93b) on Thu, 21 Apr 2011 17:00:43 In Reply to: Re: Coolant loss update; bad bypass valve and hoses, NJWayne, Thu, 21 Apr 2011 16:51:27 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
MACKAY heater hose at eeuroparts part # 5463252 they are a site sponsor.
I did mine and took out the by-pass valve and it works great. Leave the solenoid wired up so you don't get CEL and plug the vacuum line going to the solenoid.
The by-pass valve is only to stop hot water from going into the heater at the coldest settings of the A/C.
In fact, I bought upper and lower heater hoses and the expansion tank hose and the water pump hose for line $75 from eeuro and replace all the coolant rubber under the hood.
As Swede cars says removing is the same....well easier cause you are not putting the hoses back in. Installation is much easier......and NO MORE BY-PASS VALVE!!!!!
This is a great fix that I recommend to anyone. I see no difference in A/C temp and it was 95 last week here in LA and no problems.
DO IT!!
