For motor mounts Posted by Johnson [Email] (#3237) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Johnson) on Tue, 14 Jun 2011 16:11:14 In Reply to: Re: 2000 wagon woes, Rob [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 14 Jun 2011 14:32:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Check the sponsors, they have some pretty good prices. on my MY99 9-5, same problem and replacing the motor mounts fixed it. They are around 200 dollars apiece, the left and right side are really easy to do, I just put a jack with a block of wood on it under the oil pan, and put just enough pressure to take the weight off the motor mounts. the passenger side one has to have that arm taken off, the other one is under the battery. The rear motor mount I paid somebody to do, I wasn't up to doing it myself, figured the cost vs. how much time it would take me to do it, was worth paying an indi mechanic to do.
Fuel econnomy? that's always a hard one, how long have you owned the car, is this a new problem, or has it always been this way? what type of plugs did you put in, what's your driving style? do you haul a lot of stuff around? if you have a CEL on, do you know what the code is? I had a vacuum line go bad on me, and my fuel economy dropped. 2 bucks of hose fixed that problem quick. where your fuel goes in is just a rubber hose with a rubber gasget around it, they all move around some. they are made to so they don't get damaged from the vibrations of a vehicle. what type of gas do you use? how old is your air filter? a few more details will help us give a better answer.
