I'm looking at new summer tires but I'll get them next spring. What I want to get are Nokian V tires. They are low rolling resistance high performance summer only tires... not cheap and not easy to find... but I had nokian NRH2's on a c900 + they were unbelievably good, especially in rain. I'd put them on all my cars if they still made them! Nokian claim the new ones (H and V) are better and independent tests rank them highly among peers...
Only downside is I'm thinking of going with 235/45R17 tires (same diameter as the 215/55/R16 winters) vs 225/45R17... and the nokian V doesn't come in that size... they do have a Z which does come in that size (and is also low rolling resistance)... not that I need Z rated tires...
so I don't think LRR and performance are mutually exclusive, however, none of these are all seasons, so probably not relevant to the original poster... (otoh, I find for the most part, all season + performance *are* mutually exclusive! ok, that's an exaggeration, but all seasons are compromises in all seasons + I have no use for them...)
James...
