Chasing an airmass deviation Posted by Chadwick [Email] (#569) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Chadwick) on Tue, 6 Dec 2011 14:42:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm nearly at my wits end on this 2001 9-5 2.3t
Vehicle has a -23% airmass deviation that I cannot seem to locate. Car also misfires slightly at idle.
What I have done so far:
- Checked all vacuum lines including those to heater bypass valve
- Checked all intake boots and hoses (including intercooler boots)
- Blocked off brake booster, deviation is still present
- Airmass meter, did not effect deviation
- Blocked off EVAP purge valve line, did not effect deviation
- Replaced bypass valve o-ring on intake pipe & throttle body O-ring
- New plugs & DIC (had camshaft position sensor fault)
- Swaped intake manifold pressure sensor and intake pipe temperature sensor from another car which had +/- 1% deviation
- Sprayed starting fluid on all intake pipes and around all vac lines, no change in idle
I that think about covers it. I still have the front end apart to check the end tanks on the intercooler.
I'm getting stumped. I recall the car had a throttle body fault awhile back and I'm starting to wonder if that could be related at all? Also, the timing chain is noisy. Tech 2 shows the timing bouncing around at idle, could this cause a deviation?
Thanks,
-Chad
