I believe 2002 is the changeover year for the auto trans, from 4 spd to 5spd. Any of the ones you're checking out will have it.
2004 is also an important year in that it's the first MY where the cars came from the factory with PCV #6 (or its equivalent?) installed. Anything before that raises the ugly specter of sludge although earlier cars with strong records of maintenance and synth oil are likely ok, and may have had the PCV #6 added at some point anyway.
The SID also changed in 2004. Holds its pixels better but doesn't kook as good as the 1999-2003 IMHO.
At 80-100k you'll want to be looking at a few known 9-5 weak spots: coolant bypass valve, CPS, maybe the fuel pump, and the rear suspension. A moaning cabin fan can be an annoying bugger too.
Good luck! It really is a great car.
