like the others said... basically the tranny is not the weak point on the 9-5, (whereas it probably was on the automatic 9000, and definitely was on the c900!)... 2004+ reduces the risk of sludge (though does not eliminate it: look for good oil change behaviour from the previous owner)... when looking at cars, it wouldn't hurt to bring along a tape measure to get the front + back ride heights + compare to spec. that tells you a lot about the suspension. look for wear on the inside edges of tires also (but tires are sometimes replaced prior to sale, so that, while a give away if wear is present, the absence of inner tire wear does not mean it's all good (I made that mistake!)... those are the more costly common issues... great highway cars! good luck!
