While there are some benefits to the earlier model year (glass headlight lenses, and "classic" front styling) MY 2002 and MY 2003 "Arc" models feature:

5 speed a/t - with "paddle shift" for MY 2003
HID headlight option
Stability control
vented rear brakes, and *possibly* larger diameter front brakes.
Suspension upgraded for better handling

Whichever model you choose, do make certain the car has (or gets) the upgraded engine control software, which includes revised ignition drive (for longer DIC life) and DIC diagnostic routines.
