DO NOT assume that the T-belt was done at 60k. Get proof.
Even if it was, you should find out when that was on the calendar. The t-belt can also succumb due to age.
If it is 77k, and the belt has never been done, know that at an independent shop, having the t-belt, and the pulleys replaced, along with the water pump (I'll get to that shortly...) will cost over $1,000. Use that in purchase negotiations.
The water pump lives under the timing belt cover, but is not driven by the timing belt. Collective wisdom in the Saab community has the water pumps usually good to go for two t-belt changes, or about 120k. At that point, on changing the second t-belt, you change the water pump regardless of whether it is showing signs of leakage or other failure. Two reasons for this: a) you're already there, and it's just a few more bolts to change the WP, but a whole lot of work to get in there again. b) if the pump fails AFTER changing the t-belt, you run the risk of a leak causing the T-belt to slip, or worse, come off, and damage the motor.
If this car has no proof of the t-belt being done, OR, if the belt-only change was done by a Saab dealer at 60k, I would not drive the car very much before having the belt & pulleys done. And considering it's an 11-year-old car, do the WP while you're in there.
The two V6s I've bought have had their belts done within a couple thousand miles of when I got them. The 2002 had 78k on it, but no proof at all of a belt change, and the 2000 had had the belt-only done, but I had the whole set done at 90k just to be safe (bought the car at 85k).
It's not cheap, but even at $1,500 for the job, that's only 2.5 cents per mile spread over 60k. And you do NOT want to find out what it'll cost you if the belt fails...
