In Jan 2010 I totaled my '02 Aero SW (148k miles) and replaced it with a CPO '07 Aero SC with 18k miles. I now have 55k, so I think I know both cars pretty well. Stop me if you've heard this before...
[I also had a 1999 SE 3.0 SW for 3-4 months between those two, plus an assortment of 9-5's for my daughter and son].
I have to echo most of Otis' comments. The newer front end has really grown on me. Previously I thought the '02 front end was perfect, but I think I like my newer better.
The dash changes have also grown on me.
My '07 has the 60th anniversary seats. I don't know if that's the same leather as the "natural" option, it does have the high-contrast stitching.
By '08, these cars are pretty well sorted out, but unfortunately apparently still use the same coolant bypass valve, as I recently had that replaced (CPO). I suspect the rear suspension wear is a concern, especially for the Combi.
good luck, they're all good
