I did have the 1312 code pop up a few days before it died road side in a rainstorm. Having been through this before, I ordered one the day it threw the code. Unlike days of yore, I couldn't just buy one locally or have one overnighted. Local Saab dealer is gone and everyone seemed to be out of them, all that were around were the Chinese knockoffs. Eeuro was even out of them at 500 dollars a pop. MI Roger turned me on to the CarQuest source and I ordered one, but it did not arrive in time to prevent a roadside death.
Local mechanic had two cars sitting in his shop waiting for DIs. I am concerned about parts availability for these cars long term. May have to resort to picking through boneyards and paying ever higher prices for the few parts that may be around. Still looking for a dash panel for a 9-5, can't find one that is not broken, chipped up, or somehow damaged. My factory CF one is falling apart. Also cannot find interior body parts anymore.
This would keep me from buying another, in fact, after 7 Saabs, last purchase was a 2 year old S80. Volvo may be headed the way of the do do bird too in a few years. Hope my Ford truck keeps going, at least I can always get parts anywhere without getting gouged.
