I think cars coming in on a tow truck from failed fuel pumps and crankshaft position sensors outweigh cars coming in on a tow truck from failed IDM with 30-40 to 1 during a year worth.
So I don't quite understand the hysteria anymore about the IDM failures.
I never hear about people driving around with a spare fuel pump and crank sensor in the trunk even though it is possible to change on the road with a little bit of knowledge.
