I bought the black oxide 2 piece shaft collars.
I went under the car and with a caliper measured the diameter of the shock tube at the spring bottom which you can reach between the spring- 1 3/4". There are threads on how to measure your sag- center of rear tire at pavement to wheel well bottom I think. How far your off you are theoretically gives you an idea of the thickness of the spacers you need. Its a bit of a guess because spring load isn't linear but it's not critical as we're talking small fractions of an inch so it doesn't appear that you need to get EXACTLY back to oem spec. With our 2002 Linear wagon with >250,000 miles I needed over an inch lift or so (can't remember the exact measurement). The 1 3/4" i.d. collar came in a 11/16" width but I noticed the shock bottom spring flange had about a 1/4" raised inner lip to help seat the spring which the shaft collar was going to rest on so the total lift ended up about an inch. When I was done the car measured a little high but remember (if you've done the shocks) that the top of the spring fits into a molded rubber top mount thats pretty much out of sight with the spring in there. The spring is loose when compressed and it seems to "settle" back into the rubber mount with driving if you don't get it exactly positioned when loosening the spring compressor. Others recommended Loctite as apparently the collar screws willl otherwise loosen so I did that. I put the collars on last winter and the ride height and tire wear is back to normal.
Hopefully that made sense. Its really pretty easy to do- the hardest part of the whole thing is tightening and loosening the spring compressor. Even if you don't get the ride height quite right the first time its not hard to do over e.g.- still too low just add a second shaft collar- an advantage to doing it in-situ.
