Ok, so reading into what you write. If the car has been in an accident that needed front end repairs and that you later on have problems with transmission hoses, I don't think I would blame the car maker for that. Maybe something got damaged at the accident.
As for the ignition cassette. Yes, if the car stalled and did restart again when a new or used ignition was installed and maybe also as a double check, install the old cassette again and engine doesn't start. That's a pretty good waterproof test that the IDM is in fact bad.
