Back when our 9-5 was still on the CPO warranty and the dealer was 7 miles away I told them to do the pulleys and the serp belt at 60K. They refused, saying they were all fine. At the 65K oil change, and again at 70K I again said to change the belt and pulleys and they said it was not needed.

I was about to do a 1500 mile trip that had few Saab shops along the way, so I had my indy do the job at about 71K.

Since a pulley failure can strand you, doing the pulleys--which are the part that usually fails--is just common sense, especially at 90K+ miles. You can remove, re-grease and save some money, but at $40 or $50 bucks new ones usually won't break the bank. Your choice.
