I can only speak to the front of rear wheel well area. A couple of times during the winter you can pull back the fender liner and spray water into that area. You will notice a bunch of gravel will come out. Another thing you can do is to spray some rust inhibitor into the area when you know it is clean. Folks on this board differ, but Snowmobile has all sorts of ideas if you do a search on his posts. I use stuff called Fluid Film, or some auto shop only Wurth Cavity Protection Spray. Even a syringe with old motor oil is better than nothing. Lastly, take the car to an auto body shop after a few years of salty roads and have them dismantle the area. There WILL be corrosion no matter what you do; you can only slow it down. A thought on auto body shops: Do a little shopping around. The prices on this sort of work varies widely. The shiny professional places are often not the best. The hole-in-the-wall grungy looking places often have folks with lots of talent and perseverance to tackle these problems for far less money.
Good Luck. Salt Sucks. Mike
