The prices seemed higher than I expected based on anecdotal evidence based on what some folks here mentioned they paid for (some paying the same for these cars, but a year or 2 ago). I think the 9-5 is "worth" more intrinsically than it is "worth" on the market...it's a used car bargain given the depreciation hit they took. If I had a nice one since new, I'd hold onto it until it disintegrated. I was just asking if folks thought the prices seemed high compared to what others were getting them at.
I fought hard for 2 months for my insurance payout. I don't think one can place a value on being the original owner and knowing every oil change, and literally exactly how the car was driven every mile. I will not have that comfort with a used car, even a very well maintained one. A lot of the 6-8 year old 9-5s I see online are a downgrade in terms of condition compared to my ruined car.
But I see you point...my 14 year old 9-3 got XXXX, and I can get a newer 9-5 for XXXX plus a little more, I shouldn't complain. Just wanted some guidance on fair mkt value.
