Sounds like in your business you cater to your clients while in the car selling business they don't,. Or perhaps to a point.
What was the seller of the 08 going to call you for exactly. To discuss how good of deal you were going to get, perhaps negotiate on a price that works best for you. I wouldn't call if it was me. What the sticker price is way off or something? And besides purchasing a vehicle needs to be done in person. Nothing can be done over a phone call, tell the seller how much you'll pay for it and that's that its not to hard.
For instance I been kinda wanting' but not really, a Saab 9000 sticker price said 2000$ I looked at it, test drove it, and told the seller ill buy it for 1300 as soon as I stepped out of the car. You leaving your contact info instead of saying the price you'll buy it for kinda sounds like your really not interested, and what was he suppose to say " no I will not contact you' I spit on your contact info, of course not he's going to say what he did. I understand you had to rush out to meet someone but it takes no more than 30sec to speak a price and then say (great got to go be back later with cash)
Call the guy' say hey this is so and so' I test drove the 08 will you take (blah blah) for it, he most likely will say no' ill take blah blah, then you say jeez your killing me here and say ok fine blah blah is as high as ill go' deals done.
