and the 06 is much better machine in many ways...I put near 100k miles on the 2001 and have run up around 30k on the 06.
Here are my observations:
- paint quality seems higher and I like the painted door handles and rub rails
- interior dash painted black against my Parchment seats looks higher-end
- HK stereo rocks...6 disc in dash changer, XMradio, and seems to have more volume and clarity vs the HK in the 2001
- wider rims/tires and the rear axle has been fixed which no longer chews through tires. The 2001 cupped the rear tires making a roaring sound while eating the tread. I got about 22k miles per set of tires.
- 2 tone Sport seats are much superior over the pancake 2001
- Xenon lights are wonderful at night
- Compass in rearview is nice touch
- rain sensing wipers are a 'must have' for me now
- rear sonar/parking assist is nice in my tight driveway
- I'm now at 124k miles and there is only 1 sunroof rattle, car feels super tight...like Saab glued and tighten some areas over the years
- handling is tight and confident...seems about equal with the 2001
- looks, i really like the newer front-end and overall presentation
