I had both a 2000 9-5 Aero that I put 280K miles on and a 2004 9-5 ARC that I put 85K miles on. These form the basis of ideas and suggestions that follow.
Flush brake fluid: this should be done in accordance with SAAB's recommendation. However, it appears that it has taken you 10 years to put 85K miles on the car, an average of 8.5K miles/year. I would replace the fluid every 3-4 years regardless of the mileage. If the fluid becomes darkish flush and replace it.
Cooling system: Replace every 2-3 years regardless of mileage. Replace thermostat every 4-6 years unless there are symptoms.
Cooling system upper and lower hoses: Feel them carefully for soft spots; replace them if you find any. Also check the intercooler output side hose; replace if it has a soft spot. Also, check all vacuum hoses for cracking; engine heat causes this over time.
Struts and Shocks: Replace only if there are symptoms.
Turbo: Leave this alone unless there are symptoms
DI Cassette: Leave this alone unless there are symptoms
CV and Constant velocity joints: Inspect every time you wheels (every 5K miles assumed). Replace boots and repack only if the boot is leaking.
Alternator: Replace voltage regulator (includes brushes) at 100K-125K miles. Brush wear mandates this. Inexpensive part <$100.
IMHO use only OEM parts. eEuroparts is one good source. Brake pads, struts and shocks might be an exception. There are very good after-market replacements for these.
In several cases I have suggested that you replace a part only if there is a symptom. This is because they are expensive; the struts and shocks, turbo, and DI cassette are a few examples of this.
