So I came across a 2000 aero wagon for $800 with an oil leak. I thought ok, did some research and found it could be simple to fix, just a couple of seals so I picked it up. Well hear I am, had the car for a couple of days, leaks not close to as bad as I thought it would be. Previous owner stated he ran it on synthetic until it started leaking then he switched to regular oil.

Yesterday I'm out on a short yet long trip with the kids (about 7 or 8 miles from home) and the serp belt decides it doesn't like doing its job so it jumped off its track (still fully in tact) and have me think I was in trouble. After hours of waiting a nice person with a trunk full of tools stopped and helped me, I was so grateful for this and still am. We got the belt back on and during that time of having the motor mount off figuring out how to get the belt back on, I think I may have found my leak. The leak appears to be coming from the top of the block where the head sits. I might be wrong but everything from that point down is covered in new oil but yet its clean cause obviously nothing will stick there because of the oil.

Now that I think I may have found my leak should I retorque the head bolts or should I further investigate the seals that have already been replaced by previous owner? By the way was never able to figure out why the belt jumped off. It's not the short belt set up, so no clue what so ever. I'm still new to the 9-5's I've always owned 9000's and loved them, was like having a pick-up that sat 5.
