You need a good mechanic. I am 99% sure your problem is the clutch. This is not a huge repair.
A REAL Saab mechanic would know right away. The things your mechanic told you are evidence that he should NOT touch a Saab 95.
Where are you? Maybe we can steer you to a good independant.
The Saab 95 is a great car. The model you have is a a very desirable combination to the enthusiast. A stick wagon is nirvana to us!!
The Saab 95 is a great car, safe, good performance, good fuel economy, sylish etc../../
Parts are VERY VERY available. Knowledge on fixing them is very available. ....but you need a good mechanic. It is obvious that you don't and can't do the work yourself so a good Saab mechanic is needed.
WHERE ARE YOU? FILL US IN. Maybe we can help direct you to a good Saab mechanic.
If not I want to buy your car.
