The one drawback I can see using the TK3.4 is that those together with the TK3.4D had a tendency to die with a poof.
If that happens when you are driving and especially at freeway speeds, the ignition spark disappears but the fuel injectors keeps dumping fuel into the cylinders and the glowing hot catalytic converter which drowns and have a "melt down".
It just happened again a few months ago, albeit with a Propart IDM, and not only did the customer have to pay for a new IDM but a week later, the C/E light came on saying the cat was bad and that was another $1800.00 for cat and both O2 sensors.
