I know why you want the battery in the trunk, to get it away from the heat of the turbo and the general heat under the Saab hood for better battery life. It is a logical and smart modification.
You can get battery kits form Summitracing http://www.summitracing.com/ Jegs and other on-line sources for $100 to $200 including the case. If you have a sealed battery your don't need the case.
It is a smart modification for better battery life in a Saab turbo.
I am doing this on my 2000 Aero wagon and will use one of the storage area in the back to house the battery. I bought a 15 foot cable using "0" gauge wire and will install it next to the main harness along the drive side sill under the carpet. This is where the main harness goes to the back of the car. You have to pull up the carpet and lay the cable in there.
Mercedes, BMW and others have the battery in the back on various models.
